Shared Medical Record (DMP)
The Shared Medical Record (DMP) is a personal eHealth file.
Getting started
The Shared Medical Record (DMP) is the "health memory" of every person covered by the insurance system. It meets the practical need for access to health information and provides a tool for sharing health documents between professionals anywhere in the country.
Users can store documents on their DMP, such as the medical summary produced by their GP, their hospital reports, their lab results, and the history of their reimbursements, which are automatically input by the Health Insurance Fund.
Users can enter in their DMP their advance directives and trusted emergency contacts; they can also add medical documents that have not been transmitted by their care team.
The DMP enables patients to exercise their right to be informed about the state of their health in accordance with the provisions of the law of 4 March 2002 relating to patients’ rights and the quality of the health system (known as the Kouchner law).
By having a better knowledge of their own medical history, patients are better able to adhere to their treatments. The DMP’s most important contribution is to care safety, by providing patients and health professionals with the right information, at the right time, to ensure better care.
For health professionals, it is a tool that enables them to take better medical care of their patients.
In practice
In order to interface with the DMP, software must first be authorised by the National Centre for Filing and Accreditation (CNDA).
This process is meant to ensure that the software meets the specifications defined in the Integration Guide.
• DMP Compatibility Authorisation Process (CNDA)
• LPS Integration Guide (GIE SESAM Vitale’s Espace Industriels site)
When ?
The DMP will be integrated into the Health Data Personal Space (ENS) on 1 January 2022.
During 2021, work will be carried out to simplify access to the DMP.
Compliance
Interfacing with the DMP
In order to interface with the DMP under the conditions defined in the publishers' contract (general conditions and special DMP conditions), the software must first be authorised by the National Centre for Filing and Accreditation (CNDA).
The authorisation process is meant to ensure that the software meets the specifications defined in the business software integration guide in order to guarantee the interoperability and security of the service.
DMP Compatibility can be complete (allowing a DMP to be created, added to, or consulted) or partial. The authorisation of software for DMP-Compatibility is obtained following a specific process.
