E-health in Occitanie

The Occitanie region, building on its strong digital health ecosystem, has launched a digital health cluster to organize innovation and support its development. Led by AD’OCC and Eurobiomed, the cluster draws on a dynamic environment. The Occitanie Regional Health Agency (ARS) contributes by serving as a liaison with healthcare stakeholders, fostering a better understanding of their challenges. The sector supports tailored solutions, from piloting to market access.

In Occitanie, healthcare innovation is underpinned by a structured ecosystem in which e-health plays a central role in the evolution of practices and organizations. Driven by centers of excellence such as Toulouse and Montpellier, the region closely integrates medical research, digital technologies, and the expertise of healthcare professionals. This convergence fosters the development of digital services tailored to on-the-ground needs, whether to improve access to care, streamline patient pathways, or strengthen coordination between healthcare and medico-social stakeholders. Health information systems play a key role here, supporting the emergence of interoperable, secure solutions that can be directly implemented in daily practice.

The structure of the e-health sector in Occitanie is based on a strong spirit of cooperation among regional stakeholders. Healthcare facilities, innovative companies, support organizations, and public institutions contribute to joint projects, both at the regional level and in alignment with national frameworks. This collective dynamic enables the development of digital health solutions that are aligned with real-world challenges while incorporating essential requirements. Healthcare professionals are fully involved in these initiatives, ensuring that the tools developed are tailored to professional practices and patient needs.

In this environment, G_NIUS serves as a strategic hub for e-health project leaders seeking to join the Occitan ecosystem. The hub facilitates access to information and directs users to relevant resources, whether for funding, support, or project structuring. It helps identify the right stakeholders to engage and fosters synergies among innovators, healthcare facilities, and institutional partners. This support helps secure the innovation journey by accelerating the transition from concept to operational implementation, within a framework aligned with regional and national digital health priorities.

Establishing or developing an e-health project in Occitanie means benefiting from an environment conducive to experimentation, deployment, and scaling up. The density of the network of stakeholders, the quality of the expertise available, and the diversity of ongoing projects create concrete opportunities to design useful and sustainable digital services. Thanks to a strong regional approach and structured support mechanisms, the region offers innovators and healthcare professionals the conditions necessary to transform practices, enhance the performance of healthcare systems, and address the sector’s current and future challenges.
