Health Terminology Management Centre (CGTS)
A national public portal that distributes free semantic resources for the health and social care sector.
Getting started
The Health Terminology Management Centre (CGTS) is responsible for:
- publishing the various semantic resources (terminologies, codings, alignments) used by health professionals to structure data in the course of treatment in line with the various formats used by industrial companies to incorporate that data into professional eHealth software,
- overseeing collaboration with the production units that produce these semantic resources, retain ownership of them, and are responsible for their maintenance,
- providing support services for users of these semantic resources, in particular industrial companies, in partnership with the production units in order to optimise their use in the healthcare professional software.
The aim is to streamline the use of health terminologies in France, given the inconsistency of terminology production and formats in the health and social care sector.
The national portal, through its services, provides support to users, manufacturers and publishers.
There, you’ll find semantic reference bases in interoperable formats, easily accessible and immediately usable in your tools.
In practice
The Health Terminology Management Centre (CGTS) is responsible for:
- publishing the various semantic resources (terminologies, value sets, alignments) in standardised formats
- organising the collaboration with the Production Units (PUs) that create these semantic resources
- offering support services to users in order to optimise the use of these resources in the software used by Healthcare Professionals.
When ?
The CGTS is equipped with a Multi-Terminology Server (MTS) tasked with publishing semantic resources. It will go into production in three stages between November 2020 and June 2021.
