The Centre de gestion des Terminologies de santé (CGTS) is a governance body responsible for the operational management of the publication of semantic resources used by healthcare and medico-social professionals to structure their exchanges.

The CGTS aims to promote semantic interoperability using controlled vocabularies that are operational and shared by all, to guarantee the consistency of this semantic corpus and to meet users' needs by providing them with a range of operational tools (SMT, the API, translation tool, alignment tool, FHIR Terminologies (Ontoserver)).

It is responsible for:

• Publish the various semantic resources (terminologies, value sets, alignments) used by healthcare and medico-social professionals to structure data and exchanges;
• Guarantee the steeringand themanagement of semantic resourcesassociated with the Health Information Systems Interoperability Framework (Access the CI-SIS file) ;
• Maintain a trusted space for publishing various semantic resources, via the Multi-Terminology Server (Access the SMT file) ;
• Accompany users, particularly manufacturers, in integrating these resources to optimize their use in healthcare professional software (LPS).

Since 2021, the Agence du Numérique en Santé (ANS), via the CGTS, has integrated the Centre Collaborateur français de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé (ccOMS) ensuring the publication of WHO terminologies and contributing to the work of ccOMS partner centers of expertise. The CGTS supports European ANS projects aimed at harmonizing standards used in France and Europe.
