What is the Gérontopôle Nouvelle-Aquitaine?

The Gérontopôle NA is a public interest group funded by the Regional Health Agency and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Council. Its primary objective is to support research and innovation in the field of healthy aging.

🎯 Tasks

  • Strengthen public-private partnerships for innovation and research among stakeholders in research, business, and user groups, as well as healthcare and independent living professionals;
  • Accelerate the development and deployment of innovations co-created with users and professionals in the sector;
  • Expand knowledge of practices that better address societal changes and the challenges of demographic transition, evaluate them in real-world settings, and promote their implementation.

For all projects related to frail older adults, those with reduced independence, those who are ill, or those with disabilities, the Gérontopôle NA can help you:

  • Staying informed about developments in public policies on active and healthy aging in France and Europe;
  • Access a design service to explore the real potential of new solution ideas or uncover the user experience of future solutions;
  • Accessing facilities for testing, experimenting with, and evaluating solutions in real-world settings throughout the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region (university laboratories, private sector partners, technology transfer centers, etc.);
  • Receive assistance with project financial planning and securing funding;
  • Receive support in promoting and scaling up solutions, sharing best practices, publications, etc., and disseminating your information (calls for projects, etc.).

  • In the ideation phase: from concept to non-functional prototype;
  • In the experimentation phase: testing in real-world situations through to the pre-commercial stage;
  • In the medical-economic evaluation phase;
  • In the commercialization phase.

But the NA Gerontology Center provides support for project planning, right through to securing funding.

The services provided by Gérontopôle NA are free of charge, but they are subject to application guidelines designed to assess the innovation and its expected impact on older adults or professionals in the sector in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Can Gérontopôle NA provide personalized support for my project?

No, the NA Gerontology Center supports projects that bring together hospitals, medical-social facilities, or service providers; professionals in the sector; local governments; and associations through "public-private" or "public-public" partnerships. 

Can Gérontopôle NA support my project outside the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region?

The NA Gerontology Center focuses its activities on the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Collaborations with other gerontology centers or related organizations may be established as part of interregional, European, or international projects.

Gérontopôle NA will send you a “fact sheet” to fill out, explaining the innovative nature of the project, the expected benefits, a financing plan, etc., which will allow us to evaluate the project in light of the consortium’s funders’ priorities.
