🎯 Missions

  • To bring together and foster the research and innovation ecosystem to promote the independence of people who are visually impaired and blind
  • Leverage the expertise of the campus’s member organizations and its exceptional location in the heart of Paris—particularly with regard to major corporations and public institutions—in order to become self-sustaining
  • Enable people who are visually impaired and blind to directly express their needs and to be active participants in the campus’s initiatives and governance
  • To forge international partnerships with other innovation centers and organizations for the visually impaired around the world
  • To offer startups and researchers the opportunity to test their ideas and technological and digital prototypes through participatory research using agile methods

For an e-health project, reaching out to the Louis Braille Campus provides access to a unique ecosystem that brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, organizations, startups, companies, and individuals affected by visual impairment.

The Campus supports project leaders in designing, testing, and evaluating innovative solutions through its user panels, its Academy of User Experts, and its partnerships with stakeholders in research and the disability community.

These connections facilitate the development of solutions that are truly useful, accessible, and tailored to real-world needs.

🤝 At what stage of my project should I get in touch?

It is advisable to contact the Louis Braille Campus early in the project to identify user needs and incorporate accessibility into the design. The Campus can also provide support during the co-design, user testing, real-world testing, impact assessment, and solution deployment phases.

💸 Does it fund projects?

No. The Louis Braille Campus supports projects but does not fund them directly. It can, however, refer project leaders to relevant partners and funding programs.
