Financial compensation for operators of therapeutic digital medical devices (DTx) under the early PECAN derogatory reimbursement scheme is defined by order of the ministers responsible for health and social security.
Value of tariff compensation for a DTx
In order to provide a framework for reimbursement, the order of April 22, 2024, published in the JO of April 25, 2024, sets the value of tariff compensation for a digital medical device with a therapeutic aim within the framework of a PECAN.
These financial compensations are per patient and are set as follows:
- An initial lump sum of €435 (incl. VAT) allowing coverage for the first 3 months, billed in 1 instalment;
- Then a monthly payment of €38.3 inc. tax from the 4th month of PECAN, the billing frequency of which will be modulated according to the type of DM;
- The maximum amount is €780 incl. VAT per year and per patient.
Thanks to the anticipated assumption of responsibility, patients now benefit from faster access to Health Insurance coverage for their DTx.
These initiatives reaffirm the commitments of the Minister Delegate in charge of Health and Prevention and the Government as a whole in favor of innovation in digital health, and better access to care for patients by opening up derogatory prise en charge.
