How does exposure to noise pollution affect the quality of our sleep?
This topic will be explored during the next edition of the webinar "At the Heart of Health Data," organized by the Health Data Platform and dedicated to the SOMNIBRUIT study.
This study, conducted between 2024 and 2025, drew on the complementary expertise of four partners: Bruitparif (the Île-de-France Regional Noise Observatory), the Île-de-France Regional Health Observatory (ORS Île-de-France), the Sleep and Vigilance Center at Hôtel-Dieu (AP-HP), the joint research unit on Sleep, Vigilance, Fatigue, and Public Health (VIFASOM – Paris Cité University), and the City of Paris.
It aims to better understand and quantify the impact of noise pollution from transportation (road, rail, and air traffic) and from nighttime recreational activities (cafés, bars, and restaurants) on the sleep of residents in the Île-de-France region, by cross-referencing environmental and health data across the densely populated Île-de-France area (~10.5 million inhabitants).
On the agenda:
- Study objectives and methodology
- Unprecedented cross-analysis of health and environmental data
- Initial findings and lessons for public health
A Q&A session will conclude the session to answer questions and delve deeper into the study’s findings.
