National Digital Health Challenges

Discover the National Digital Health Challenges in Healthcare: calls for proposals to support innovation and improve patient care pathways through digital technology.

France is firmly committed to the digital transformation of its healthcare system, driven by major national programs. These initiatives, led by the Ministry of Health and the Delegation for Digital Health through the Regional Health Agencies (ARS) and supported by key stakeholders such as Santé publique France, aim to improve the health of the population while reducing social and regional inequalities. At the heart of this effort, the 2023–2027 National Health Strategy sets priorities such as preventive health care, health safety, and innovation through health data.

Digital Health Roadmap

This ambitious national plan accelerates the deployment of digital tools to modernize the healthcare system. It includes projects related to telemedicine, shared medical records, and artificial intelligence, thereby strengthening research and the security of health data. The national sports and health strategy is also reflected in this plan, with initiatives promoting adapted physical activity as a lever for preventing chronic diseases.

"Digital health" acceleration strategy

Led by the Interministerial Health Committee, this initiative supports innovative projects in areas such as mental health and nutrition. The National Nutrition and Health Plan (PNNS) plays a central role, promoting a balanced diet and combating sedentary lifestyles through Sport and Health programs. Calls for projects also target the workplace, with ANSES assessing occupational risks to better prevent them.

Ségur Funding and Calls for Proposals

The Ségur program, a cornerstone of the national health strategy, provides grants to modernize healthcare infrastructure. In particular, it supports projects related to digital health, preventive health initiatives (such as campaigns by the National Cancer Institute), and physical activity and sports in schools. This funding aligns with a prevention-first approach, a key priority of the National Health Priority Plan (PNSP).

Impact and synergies

These national programs create synergies among public actors, researchers, and businesses. The national sports and health strategy, for example, addresses issues of nutrition and social inequalities, while the national health and environment plan tackles risks related to the workplace environment. Mental health, designated a major national cause, benefits from dedicated funds to improve access to care.
