. The aim of the action is to launch scientific challenges and structure research communities to achieve scientific breakthroughs and bring about disruptive technologies within the next five to ten years.

Description

Digital health: interdisciplinary research and innovative challenges for better health throughout life

The application of digital sciences to complex biological and medical data is revolutionizing healthcare data processing, promising multiple benefits for patients. For this reason, the mobilization of a range of research disciplines is essential totake advantage of the health data already available and those that new medical devices are able to collect with great degrees of precision and sometimes continuously for wearable and connected systems.

The contribution, to name but a few areas, of specialists in artificial intelligence, applied mathematics or computer security in close collaboration with life science researchers and clinicians, sociologists and health economists, is essential to continue improving health for all.

The "Digital Health" acceleration strategy includes a scientific component which thus brings together several French institutions whose aim is to build the building blocks necessary for the evolution of the prevention and care system, new instruments, new forms of data, models, algorithms or even adapted organizational or legal recommendations.

These exciting prospects are inextricably linked with ethical concerns and health data protection, which are taken into account right from the design stage of these innovative technologies.

The Priority Research Program and Equipment (PEPR) is jointly supported by l'Inserm and l'Inria. A total of 17 scientific projects will be funded under the PEPR program.
