Quality and safety of telecare: HAS recommendations
Regulations
07/06/2021
In 2020, a new method of remote patient care has been defined: Telecare. The HAS supports professionals in its implementation.
The HAS publishes recommendations for the proper use of telecare
Since 3 June 2021, pharmacists and paramedical professionals have been able to practice telecare. Telecare was authorised on an exceptional basis at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic for almost half of the medical professions.
This new possibility of remote management aims to facilitate access to care for patients. To support the deployment of telecare and guarantee the quality and safety of care, the HAS has published the eligibility criteria for telecare and recommendations on good use and quality of practices. They include the protection of personal data and compliance with medical secrecy.
An information sheet entitled "Get remote consultations and treatment - Teleconsultation and telecare" has also been developed for patients.
These publications complement previous work carried out by the HAS on telehealth, in particular the recommendations for the implementation of teleconsultation and tele-expertise in 2019.
