Let's build a national health data heritage together!

Innovation

09/10/2024

The secondary use of healthcare data is essential for research and innovation, for public policy decision-making, and for steering the healthcare system. In France, such initiatives have been underway for several years.

The national strategy focusing on the secondary use of health data was unveiled on September 30, 2024 in the presence of all stakeholders: the Ministry of Health and Access to Care, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Industry, the Agency for Innovation in Health, the National Health Insurance Fund, as well as the Health Data Platform.

This strategy rests on four essential pillars:

  1. Fostering transparency and citizen confidence;
  2. Constituting databases designed for reuse;
  3. Gathering the necessary conditions for making healthcare data available;
  4. Easily and simply using data.

A public consultation is open until November 5 to gather opinions that will help shape a shared, coherent and ambitious vision.

As part of this consultation, 9 regional meetings are scheduled between now and the end of November. Everyone's active participation is crucial to defining together the future direction of healthcare data management in France.
The 1stère stage is being held this Thursday, October 10 in Rennes at EHESP.

Our collective commitment is essential to driving forward this nationwide project, with the ambition of positioning France as a leader in the healthcare data field.
