Tiers lieu @Hôtel-Dieu

Lead partner : AP-HP

Principal consortium members: Université Paris Cité

The prefigurative Tiers-lieu @Hôtel-Dieu launched in 2021 enhances the expertise of AP-HP teams and facilitates access to the hospital environment for start-ups and holders of innovative digital health projects, to encourage the emergence of innovation projects in connection with healthcare services and accelerate the testing and experimentation in real conditions of innovations at the heart of tomorrow's care models.

The Tiers Lieu service offering

The @Hôtel-Dieu Tiers lieu provides a space for innovative project leaders and hospital experts to exchange ideas and collaborate. It offers support tailored to the needs of projects, throughout the innovation cycle:

  • Expertises: the Tiers lieu addresses the needs of project developers who wish to derisks the various hypotheses of their models, particularly in the seed phase of their projects, notably by valorizing the expertise of AP-HP's healthcare and administrative teams, through various services such as setting up focus groups or multi-professional boards, and producing study reports;
  • Testing and experimentation: the Tiers-lieu offers the possibility of setting up testsor experimentation under real conditions in care departments, for solutions that have just been put on the market or are going to be in the very short term in a qualification or demonstration approach (acceptability study, user experience tests...)
  • Co-development: the Tiers lieu facilitates the co-development of digital healthcare solutions by mobilizing the most suitable expertise within AP-HP and offering dedicated project engineering resources.

By supporting innovative project leaders and structuring communities of industrialists, start-ups and caregivers involved in innovation, the @Hôtel-Dieu Tiers lieu directs the supply of digital healthcare solutions towards uncovered needs and helps to bring about the emergence of solutions likely to spread more rapidly throughout the hospital field.

Tiers lieu d'expérimentation projects

Project 1: CODEC-HF

Supplier: Implicity

Solution:Implicity's platform enables remote monitoring of patients equipped with implantable cardiac electronic devices from leading manufacturers and heart failure patients. The start-up is now developing AI-based algorithms to predict the health status of tracked patients

Tiers-Lieu contribution: Implicity is collaborating with the Tiers lieu @Hôtel-Dieu, notably as part of the "@Hôtel-Dieu Plateforme" project (AMI Santé Numérique), which aims to accelerate the deployment and evaluation of new remote patient monitoring models. As part of this, Implicity and AP-HP have set up a registry (CODEC-HF) to evaluate the contribution of digital tools, and in particular connected objects (connected scales, smartwatches, etc.), in the remote monitoring of heart failure.

Project 2: Nabla

Supplier: Nabla

Solution: Nabla COPILOT is an AI-based medical assistant that captures exchanges between caregivers and patients during consultation via the microphone of a computer or smartphone and automatically generates a medical report in seconds.

Tiers-Lieu contribution:Nabla is collaborating with the Tiers lieu @Hôtel-Dieu, notably as part of the "@Hôtel-Dieu Plateforme" project (AMI Santé Numérique), which aims to accelerate the deployment and evaluation of new remote patient monitoring models. The Tiers lieu @Hôtel-Dieu is also supporting the testing of Nabla's report-generating AI assistant with several AP-HP departments.

Project 3: Withings

Supplier: Withings

Solution:Withings develops a range of connected health objects to help users track their health and adopt a healthier lifestyle, such as connected scales, smartwatches and blood pressure monitors.

Tiers-Lieu contribution:Withings is collaborating with the Tiers-lieu @Hôtel-Dieu, notably as part of the "@Hôtel-Dieu Plateforme" project (AMI Santé Numérique), which aims to accelerate the deployment and evaluation of new remote patient monitoring models. As part of this, the tires lieu is supporting the implementation of several clinical studies to assess the contribution of Withings connected objects to improving patient care.
