What is the IMT?

The IMT is a public institution dedicated to higher education and research for innovation with a strong international influence. It is the leading French group of engineering and management schools.

The IMT supports innovation and business development. It trains 12,600 engineers, managers and doctors for the economy, making it a technology university in the spirit of American universities such as MIT or Stanford.

The IMT comprises 8 public Grandes Ecoles, 2 subsidiary schools, and 13 associated or affiliated schools.
Over 4,200 diplomas awarded in 2019 with a net employment rate for engineering/management graduates (at 6 months) of 94.7%.

It is also a major research partnership institute:

  • Sponsor or co-sponsor of two Carnot institutes, which are the first two academic Carnot institutes;
  • More than €82 million in its own resources from research;
  • About 1350 teacher-researchers, about 1000 doctoral students;
  • 50 patents filed and more than 2,000 Class A publications each year;
  • Academic leader in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship (12 incubators spread across different regions, including several dozen startups in the field of health).

I have a project, how can contacting the IMT be of use to me?

  • Joining internationally recognised teams in the fields of ICT, materials and processes, engineering and management
  • Accessing the portfolio of more than 780 patents (more than 50 patents filed each year) and about 75 startups that enter our incubators each year
  • Developing innovative services within the framework of key themes in health, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, cybersecurity, energy, materials, etc.
  • Getting support from a skilled institution present in different regions of France via the R&D programmes, incubators and accelerators of the IMT schools
  • Accessing expertise in Europe (national contact point member for SME programs, long-time member of the STIC NCP, coordinating more than 90 Horizon 2020 projects and 8 ERCs), and internationally (international laboratories, associated schools, joint research programs, etc.).

At what stage of my project should I contact them?

  • From the ideation phase to refine the business plan via the experts in the R&D programs and those in the transfer structures during the incubation phase to benefit from the solutions developed by the group via the laboratories and incubators
  • During the maturation phase to develop innovative services via more than 20 joint laboratories, more than 50 technological platforms and R&D programs
  • During the strategic development phase to explore new services and applications requiring business expertise available at the IMT group level

A quelle phase de mon projet entrer en contact ?

  • Dès la phase d’idéation pour affiner le business plan via les experts des programmes R&D, des structures de transfert durant la phase d’incubation pour bénéficier des solutions développées par le groupe via les laboratoires et les incubateurs du groupe;
  • Durant la phase de maturation pour développer des services innovants via plus de 20 laboratoires joints, plus de 50 plateformes technologiques et des programmes R&D;
  • Pendant la phase de développement stratégique pour explorer de nouveaux services et applications nécessitants des expertises métiers disponibles au niveau du groupe IMT.
