France cohorts
Consolidate and federate the production, processing and availability of cohort research data.
What is the objective of the action?
The ambition of this action is to consolidate and perpetuate research cohorts, while guaranteeing the protection of participants' data, and obtain an interoperable catalog of research data in 10 years' time.
Who is it for ?
Academic and industrial cohorts
Issues
Since 2011, large cohorts have been developed, tracking over a million volunteers. These data represent infrastructures widely open to academic and industrial collaborations.
However, several limitations have been identified:
- The embalance of initiatives does not allow carriers to respond in isolation to regulatory, technical, and scientific developments;
- There is a need for mutualization to respond collectively to regulatory (RGPD), security (HDS), IT (storage, computation), and human (computer scientists, statisticians, etc.) challenges.
Description
The aim of the action is to dynamize and perpetuate the France Cohorte infrastructure to obtain in 10 years an interoperable catalog of data from research and that it constitutes a possible national matching node with the HDH.
With a view to mutualization, the action aims to propose cross-cohort support functions. It will contribute toimproving the visibility of cohorts and making them sustainable: the value of a cohort is often conditional on their long-term follow-up, and they pose major challenges linked to their sustainability.
